Global operations at Expeditors are facing disruption after the US forwarder became the latest supply chain firm to suffer a cyber attack.
On Sunday, the company told customers that it had suffered a targeted cyber attack. The forwarder said that it was working with global cyber-security experts to resolve the situation but added that systems may be unavailable as it assesses and stabilises its systems and backup procedures are implemented.
In its latest update, the company said: "Expeditors’ global network continues to work diligently through our crisis management and business continuity response plans.
"We appreciate the immediate support and collaboration from our customers, employees, service providers and other key stakeholders.
"Our global operations continue to be impacted. We are working with urgency to support ongoing business needs. Further communications will be shared as the situation continues to evolve."
Expeditors is not the only company involved in air cargo to have suffered a cyber attack in recent months.
In February, ground handler Swissport battled an attack.
And in December, forwarder Hellmann's operations were also affected by a breach.
