Etihad Cargo has appointed Jacob David as senior manager products, as of this month.

David will be based at Etihad's headquarters in Abu Dhabi and will play a key role in driving innovation and elevating product offerings, said the airline.

"With extensive experience from leading airlines across the Middle East and North America, Jacob brings a wealth of expertise in product development and business strategy," said Etihad Cargo in a LinkedIn post on October 28.

"Jacob's leadership will be instrumental in enhancing our IATA CEIV-certified products, such as PharmaLife, FreshForward, SecureTech, SkyStables, and LiveAnimals, while ensuring we meet the evolving needs of our partners and customers."

Prior to joining Etihad for his new role, David spent over two years as head of postal and alliances for Air Canada Cargo.

Before that, he spent eight years working for Qatar Airways in roles including freighter route management officer; airmail & express product specialist; global account manager, e-commerce products; and head of expedited products.

Etihad Cargo reported a 17% increase in volumes for the first half of this year following its efforts to cater for specialist verticals and increase its capacity.
