Emirates SkyCargo has added a second daily passenger Boeing 777 flight between Dubai and Geneva, Switzerland, offering cargo opportunities for the pharma industry.

The new service – departing Dubai at 14.55 local time and returning from Geneva at 21.45 - offers nearly 140 tonnes of additional bellyhold cargo capacity a week and the B777-300ER used allows cargo up to 160cm high.

Emirates already operates passenger flights to Zurich and a freighter to Basel.

Geneva is a hub for pharmaceutical companies and luxury watchmakers and the headquarters of international organisations including the International Red Cross.

Key exports from Geneva include pharmaceuticals, car spares, chemicals, electronics, luxury watches and aid cargo. Imports include poultry, meat, fish, other fresh produce and garments.
