Emirates has confirmed that chief commercial officer Thierry Antinori has resigned from his position, where he managed commercial operations and products, Emirates Skycargo and Emirates Skywards.
Adnan Kazim, divisional senior vice president, strategic planning, revenue optimisation and aeropolitical affairs, will take over as acting chief commercial officer.
The news comes shortly after the airline reported a 69% drop in its annual profits for the 2018-19 financial year to $237m.
However, the cargo business edged ahead despite facing significant headwinds.
Emirates SkyCargo’s annual airfreight tonnage and cargo revenues at AED13.1bn, versus AED 12.4bn in the prior year, “crossed record levels”.
Freight tonne kms (FTK) increased by 2.3% to 13.7bn and the yield per FTK increased by 2.7% over the previous year “resulting from a better cargo tariff mix”.
