Dubai-based Emirates Airline is to reinstate two weekly Boeing B777-300ER services between its home hub and Luanda, taking the number of flights per week on the route to five as of July 1 and upping the frequency to daily in its Winter schedule later this year.
Each of the new flights will offer up to 23 tonnes of cargo capacity and it is expected that electronic equipment, construction products and pharmaceuticals will occupy that space.
Orhan Abbas, Emirates senior vice president of commercial operations for Africa, said: “As a country rich in resources, Angola has a lot to offer global trade and we have recognised a need to enhance our capacity to enable greater connectivity between our network and Luanda.
“Reinstating these flights and growing our service to a daily operation, will benefit trade links, boost investment and will contribute to the economy by promoting business and supporting Angola’s supply chain,” he added.
