EFL International Distribution has been awarded full Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status.

The EU’s AEO programme, co-ordinated by the World Customs Organisation, seeks to facilitate trade while improving security in the supply chain.

“The accreditation covers full customs simplification – security and safety,” said Chris Radley, EFL managing director. “The AEO scheme will provide EFL with a quality mark, which will demonstrate that our internal controls, staff training, and procedures are effective and compliant.”

Benefits of AEO status include a reduction in the number and intrusiveness of cargo inspections, priority customs processing when heightened security measures are in place, and ‘Preferred Trader’ eligibility, EFL said.

The Dublin-based company (which is U-Freight Group’s Irish agent) provides multimodal freight forwarding and customs clearance services.
