Drewry October 19 rates

Drewry’s East-West Airfreight Price Index nudged up by 3% to a reading of 93.0 in October, up from 90.8 in September.

As the research and consultancy company predicted last month, all-in airfreight rates rose in October – to $2.74 from $2.67 per kg. However, this is 9% below the level of $3.02 per kg a year ago.

As the ‘peak’ season began to gear up for its November rush, Drewry expects that demand increase will drive up the rates in November.

Drewry’s Sea and Air Shipper Insight provides airfreight rate benchmarks on 57 trade lanes.
