Drewry’s East-West Airfreight Price Index of 28 major routes gained another 20 cents in October to reach a year-high $2.89 per kilo.

This followed a 12 cents jump to $2.68 per kilo in September.

The index is now only 10 cents below the high of $2.99 reached in November 2016, after which it fell away to $2.48 in February 2017 before staging a recovery.

Drewry said that, “based on seasonal trends and anecdotal reports” it expected airfreight rates to increase further in November.
