Roger Crook, Deutsche Post DHL Group management board member and chief executive of the German logistics giant's global freight forwarding arm, has stepped down for personal reasons.
Pending the appointment of a replacement, Frank Appel, chief executive of Deutsche Post DHL Group, will take on the corresponding responsibilities in a dual role.
The supervisory board thanked Crook, who has held leading positions within the group since 1988, for his longstanding service and acknowledged “his commitment in leading the division in a continuously challenging business environment”.
For the operational management of the global forwarding business, Renato Chiavi, has been named interim chief executive. Chiavi led the ocean and air freight business for the former DHL Danzas business between 1995 and 2006.
Amadou Diallo remains chief executive freight, responsible for road and rail transport services.
