DHL Global Forwarding has become the airfreight solutions provider for mobile phone specialist Transsion Holdings.

The carrier will provide services from Transsion’s manufacturing base in South China to 28 countries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, along with seafreight and warehousing in India.

Hong Kong based Transsion, which sold 59m cell phones in 2015 and has already carved out a strong market in Africa, is actively expanding into other emerging markets.

It is also a strategic customer under DHL's Fast Growing Enterprises initiative which offers tailored logistics solutions across the divisions of the group including customs clearance and truck delivery to Transsion warehouses.

Transsion’s chief marketing officer, Jason Liu, said: “Our partnership with a global brand like DHL will ensure our products reach our customers and our markets in a timely manner, so they can always get their hands on the latest products.”

DHL Global Forwarding China’s chief executive, Steve Huang added: “Our bespoke solution allows Transsion to focus on developing quality products for their customers as they seek to further reinforce and expand their presence around the world.”
