DHL Global Forwarding has announced three leadership changes in Asia Pacific with the upcoming retirement of Kelvin Leung and Charles Kauffman.
Karsten Michaelis takes over from Charles Kauffman as president/representative director, DHL Global Forwarding, Japan.
Edwin Pinto has been appointed as managing director, DHL Global Forwarding, India.
And Praveen Gregory will assume the position of senior vice president ocean freight, DHL Global Forwarding, Asia Pacific
Niki Frank, chief executive, DHL Global Forwarding, Asia Pacific, said: "With Kelvin and Charles retiring this year, it has opened up a few key positions that we had to fill, and I am glad that we could do so with candidates from the network. This goes to show that we can nurture and retain talent, while providing the right opportunities for growth to our employees.

Michaelis assumed his new Japan role from Kauffman on July 1. However, Kauffman will continue in his other role as chief executive of North Asia South Pacific until the end of the year.
Michaelis has more than two decades of experience in the logistics industry. He Joined DHL in 2011 and took on several managerial roles for ocean freight in Asia Pacific.
Kaufmann retires after more than five decades working for the group.
Meanwhile, following Kelvin Leung's retirement from the Asia Pacific chief executive role and Niki Frank's subsequent promotion, Pinto, currently head of sales and marketing, DHL Global Forwarding, Thailand and Indochina, has been appointed as the managing director for DHL Global Forwarding, India.
Pinto assumes the new role on September 1 and will report to Frank.
Pinto joined DHL in 2001 in India and has since worked in several management roles across DHL Global Forwarding, including in the automotive and key accounts areas of the business.
Finally, Gregory, currently vice president order management solutions Asia Pacific will assume the position of senior vice president ocean freight for the region from September 1.
