DB Schenker has expanded the reach of its connect 4.0 online shipping portal to the US.

According to Jeff Barrie, chief executive for DB Schenker USA: “All things being equal, small- to medium-size businesses now can get a quote, book and track a shipment with full online visibility from pickup to delivery using air and ocean transportation singularly or as a combination of services offered.”

Richard Ebach, DB Schenker’s CIO Americas, noted: “The connect 4.0 application was designed from the customers’ point of view. The goal was to create responsive and intuitive designs that provide immediate quoting, booking and tracking functionality that is expected from a leading digital forwarder.”

Connect 4.0 began as an offering for overland freight. Launched in Germany and Spain at the end of August 2018, the platform was broadened to include air and ocean services in January 2019.
