Danske Bank Markets’ European Freight Forwarding Index for July has been released and it indicates there was a significant decrease in volumes across all modes during the month.

The overall index of July freight forwarding volumes came in at 38 compared with the previous month’s (June’s) figure of 57.

In July last year, the index figure stood at 54.

The airfreight index value of 38 also indicates a significant decrease in volumes.

The index by the Danish bank is based upon a survey of forwarders across the European Union, with values above 50 indicating expansion among participating companies.

Respondents to this latest survey suggest that they expected airfreight volumes to remain fairly static over the coming couple of months.

The Danske Bank Group, headquartered in Copenhagen, is the largest bank in Denmark and brands itself as one of the leading financial enterprises in Northern Europe.
