Malaysian carrier MASkargo is to replace its legacy computer network with a Cloud-based Unisys system to manage domestic and international cargo services.
A contract with Malaysian Airline System Berhad will see Unisys replace MASkargo’s current in-house mainframe-based system with the Unisys Logistics Management System (LMS) which will also interface with automated warehouse and revenue management systems.
MASkargo's acting chief executive officer, Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, said that LMS was a modern cloud-based cargo solution, quick to implement and continuously updated. He added: “We are confident that the Unisys system will add value to our mission to Keep Business Moving via an advanced cargo systems and processes.”
Unisys' vice president Logistics Solution,s Christopher Shawdon, welcomed MASkargo as a new customer, pointing out: “As LMS is a cloud service, we are able to make it available and working with MASkargo’s customised warehouse and revenue management systems within months.”
The flexible Cloud-based model allows enhancements to be made immediately available to clients every month and enables airlines to respond quickly to constantly changing requirements, says Unisys.
