Royal Jordanian’s Board of Directors elected Said Darwazeh as chairman during the board’s meeting on 21 June.
Darwazeh had been appointed a representative of the Government Shareholdings’ Management Company on RJ’s board as of 19 June, replacing Suleiman Hafez, who had chaired the RJ board of directors since November 2014.
RJ’s president and chief executive, Captain Suleiman Obeidat, was named as a representative of the Government Shareholdings’ Management Company on the board to occupy the seat vacated.
The airline’s board consists of nine people, five of them representing the Government Shareholdings’ Management Company that owns 60.2% of RJ.
