Luxembourg-headquartered CHAMP Cargosystems has begun offering Advance Cargo Information (ACI) filing to Japan Customs via its customs compliance solution, Traxon Global Customs (TGC).
CHAMP has already signed 15 airlines up to its ACI service compliant with Japan Customs.
The system enables airlines or their ground handlers to send master air waybill, house manifest and flight manifest information electronically to customs according to national requirements. This data has been required in Japan for inbound, transit and Freight Remaining On Board (FROB) shipments since March this year.

“TGC services currently cover over 55 customs authorities worldwide and we remain committed to evolving our compliance solutions in line with market and country developments,” he added.
TGC is now used by more than 110 airlines and ground handlers, enabling electronic customs filing requirements in 59 countries worldwide.
As well as TGC, CHAMP’s product portfolio covers core management systems, messaging services, and eCargo solutions.
As well as meeting customs and security requirements, product applications include quality optimisation, eFreight and mobility needs within the Cargospot, Traxon and Logitude brands.
In March, it was announced that CHAMP had joined the Luxembourg Open Innovation Club (LOIC).
LOIC is dedicated to the broadening of business relations between large accounts, intermediate-sized enterprises and innovative start-ups through open innovation.
CHAMP said that it aims to share and exchange its industry knowledge and expertise to assist the group’s mission to support corporate innovation.
