ROBERT SONG, Cargolux’s new senior vice-president for the Asia Pacific region, has “taken a holiday” only weeks after being appointed to his role.
The member of the executive committee, who was formerly senior advisor to the airline’s new Chinese investors Henan Civil Aviation and Investment (HNCA), has “requested a two-week holiday” following the efforts that he put into preparing the HNCA deal, confirms a Cargolux statement.
Song’s portfolio includes the development of the new flight programme between Luxembourg and Zhengzhou, China. The inaugural flight to the capital city of Henan has been subject to delays due to Chinese bureaucracy problems.
Cargolux expects to finally launch scheduled B747 freighter services to the city from June 14 onwards.
The launch, originally planned for April 24 this year, was held up by final operational authorisations from the Chinese authorities.
