One of Cargolux’s pilot union has issued a final plea to the airline’s management ahead of today’s crunch talks over a new collective working agreement.
The existing working agreements covering pilot and ground staff is due to expire on December 1 and the LCGB union has urged Cargolux management and chief executive Dirk Reich to conclude talks.
The union pleaded with the airline to “urgently assume its responsibilities towards the company and the logistics sector in Luxembourg, and to conclude a future-oriented collective work agreement suitable for all personnel”.
It added: “It is the last resort in order to avoid industrial actions upon expiration of the current collective agreement.”
Last week, the airline said it would hire an additional 100 pilots.
However, the pilot’s union representatives were unimpressed by the proposal and told Air Cargo News that they were “not optimistic” about the outcome of today’s negotiations.
