SPECIAL REPORT: All-cargo airline Cargolux has streamlined its European road feeder service (RFS) network, slashing the number of trucking providers from over 35 to just six.

Unlike many rivals, which consolidated their RFS providers over the years, the European freighter airline has so far stressed the flexibility of using the best possible operator in each single lane, which makes the recent step a sea change for Cargolux and its truckers.

But the Luxembourg-based airline’s scope of operations has become much larger and less easy to manage and moreover, customer requirements have changed.
