Cargolux has finally agreed a new collective working agreement with ground staff and pilot unions after 24 hours of intensive talks.

The airline said this morning that, after repeated meetings over the last 24 hours, management had finally reached an agreement with the OGB-L, CLSC and LCGB unions.

The new agreement will be valid for three years.

Cargolux president and chief executive Dirk Reich said: "With the agreement, we achieve a significant improvement in the flexibility and economic efficiency of Cargolux and send a strong signal for the job security at Cargolux and send a strong signal for the job security at Cargolux and increased competitiveness of Luxembourg as a leading logistics hub in Europe."

Unions confirmed to Air Cargo News that an agreement had be signed.

The completion of negotiations brings to an end months of tense talks and threats of strike action as the unions and management failed to reach agreement.
