AERO engineering company Precision Aircraft Solutions has signed an agreement with Canadian freighter airline Cargojet to perform the world’s first 15-pallet passenger-to-freighter conversion of a winglet-modified B757-20.

The converted freighter will fly long-distance routes in Canada, thereby benefiting from fuel savings made possible by the winglets.

“By showing compatibility of our modification with winglet-modified passenger aircraft, we are providing another option for our customers and have opened up more feedstock for our programme,” says Gary Warner, Precision president.

“Owners of winglet-modified aircraft can now consider extending the life of their assets as a Precision freighter.”

The conversion begins this month with redelivery later this year.

Precision’s freighter conversion programme has already produced the world’s only 15-pallet B757-200 freighter in operation.

Over the last decade, 40 freighters and one winglet-compatible combi aircraft have been redelivered to owners and operators in North and South America, Europe, Africa, India and the People’s Republic of China.
