CargoAi has added a new booking request service that will allow freight forwarders to connect through the platform with GSAs and airlines that do not currently have API connections.
The booking request service allows forwarders to search on a specific route to see flights, which are updated on a daily basis by CargoAi, and rates from airlines operating on the route even when they are not directly connected to platform through APIs.
When a forwarder makes a booking request, it is sent to airlines and GSAs using a standardised email (or FFR in booking systems) negating the need to have a direct API connection.
"This unique feature increase the reach of a forwarder as there are still airlines and GSAs that don’t have API and therefore were not available on marketplaces," CargoAi told Air Cargo News.
The platform has also added rate management functionality which allows forwarders to store and view rate sheets from airlines and compare static rates from those airlines.
Matthieu Petot, chief executive of CargoAi, said: "Like all the features we are launching, rate management with the integrated Booking Request option is a further step towards the digitalisation of the entire air cargo distribution and procurement process.
"We developed it following feedback from users of CargoAi, who are seeking services which have a direct impact on their bottom line, while having a much better visibility and ability to manage their booking requests. Airlines and GSAs can still modify, confirm or reject a booking."
