CARGO airline CAL Cargo has appointed ATC Aviation Services as its US general sales agent.

Eyal Zagagi, chief executive of CAL Cargo Airlines, says strengthening the all-cargo carrier’s North American presence is a significant part of its strategy.

The Israeli airline is adding people to its existing JFK station and is planning to launch a new trade lane between Atlanta and its European hub of Liége, Belgium.

“We trust that the deal with ATC that we struck during the CNS conference will enhance our presence in the market,” he adds.

“We found ATC to be very professional and devoted. We have great expectations from this cooperation."

ATC currently has offices at Miami, Atlanta, Washington (Dulles), Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and Dallas Forth Worth.

J Timothy Pfeil, ATC’s vice-president of sales and airline relations, who is also head of global compliance, says the GSA agreement represents the ultimate use of ATC’s network across the USA.

“ATC's offices will be a perfect match with CAL's current gateway to Europe from JFK as well as its planned operation from Atlanta.

“The new agreement is a fantastic opportunity for both CAL and ATC to grow and expand together in the United States,” he adds.

Don Cochran, managing director North America, of ATC Aviation Services, says CAL's maindeck network and deep expertise in the vertical cargo channels of pharma and perishables from the United States, complements ATC's existing US-based partnerships, and permits ATC to expand its current network portfolio.

“The end result will bring more value to our and CAL's customer relationships,” he says.
