CHAMP Cargosystems is rolling out its 1Neo-Connect service, a powerful Super-Node designed to seamlessly guide air cargo businesses through every phase of adoption of IATA’s ONE Record digital data-sharing protocol.

ONE Record has been developed by IATA as a data-sharing standard that will replace legacy formats such as Cargo IMP and XML, and the 1Neo-Connect service allows air cargo companies to connect with ONE Record data exchanges through CHAMP’s systems and API connections. It was launched in autumn last year.

According to CHAMP, 1Neo-Connect eliminates the complexities of transitioning to the new standard, enabling “swift and efficient digital transformation”.

Multi-level process

CHAMP’s 1Neo-Connect involves a structured, 3-tiered approach to full ONE Record integrations with air cargo partners.

The first stage involves the 1Neo-Connect Sandbox, a secure and isolated testing environment. This allows users to freely explore ONE Record data formats and exchange mechanisms without risk.

Once familiar with that, users move on to the 1Neo-Connect Pilot Kit, which facilitates interconnection with fellow users and external ONE Record servers, enabling a practical application and collaborative testing.

Finally, users move on to 1Neo-Connect Live, which provides full production connectivity to a broad network of external ONE Record users.

According to CHAMP, this structured process ensures “a successful and efficient adoption of the ONE Record standard”, thereby empowering organisations to “fully realise the benefits of digital data exchange”.

Niclas Scheiber, business analyst e-cargo application services at CHAMP, observed: “The 1Neo-Connect service is an exciting development not only for CHAMP but for the air cargo industry as we work towards ONE Record adoption at scale.

“Air cargo operators need tools that allow for ONE Record exploration and implementation without complexity, which it is our pleasure to provide with 1Neo-Connect.”

Cargospot Weight & Balance

Luxembourg-headquartered CHAMP offers a comprehensive range of integrated IT solutions and distribution services for the air cargo transport chain.

Earlier this month (April), it was confirmed that CMA CGM Air Cargo had implemented CHAMP Cargosystems’ artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled Cargospot Weight & Balance solution to reduce freighter aircraft load planning time.

Using advanced algorithms and AI, Cargospot Weight & Balance can produce a fuel-optimised and safe load plan in seconds through its ‘Autoload’ feature, CHAMP said.

This allows the loadmaster to reduce manual load planning time, which previously took over one hour, and concentrate on other crucial flight safety tasks during aircraft turnaround.

CMA CGM Air Cargo’s implementation of Cargospot Weight & Balance followed shortly after the airline had adopted other CHAMP products, including Cargospot Airline, Cargospot Portal, Cargospot Business Intelligence, and Traxon cargoHUB.
