Brazilian pharmaceuticals and project logistics specialist Brasporto has acquired Soft Green Logistics, a São Paulo-based forwarder that focuses on the textile and chemicals markets, as part of its continuing expansion in the South American country.
Brasporto Group chief executive Keiler Amaral said: "Among some aspects that have boosted interest in this acquisition, we can consider as one of the main ones the strategic realignment of the company's activities with a view to expansion and diversification of our client portfolio.
"Today we already have a consolidated position in the door-to-door logistics in the pharma segment. Soft Green has added its know-how of clearance in other areas where we are already working heavily on international shipment. Now we will also bring customers this quality for customs clearance in this new niche,” Amaral explained.
The companies’ operations will remain separate.
Brasporto inaugurated a new São Paulo headquarters on September 1, 2018 and is now present at all ports, airports and border points in Brazil, a statement said.
