CEVA Logistics is switching to a product vertical-based structure as it continues its integration of Bolloré Logistics.
The CMA CGM-owned forwarder announced that as part of the integration process, the Bolloré Logistics business would be rebranded under CEVA Logistics by the end of 2024.
The product-driven organisational model will go through to the local level and aims to improve product development.
"The new organisation reinforces the company’s ability to offer consistent global services to its customers across the breadth of its product offering," the company said in a press release.
"The vertically aligned product teams are expected to accelerate CEVA’s ability to engineer new solutions and then apply them more quickly to customer challenges across all geographies."
In addition, CEVA is combining its air and ocean operations to "capitalise on best practices and technology investments" including the implementation of CargoWise.
The restructuring comes following a spate of logistics acquisitions by the CMA CGM Group over recent years.
The acquisition of Bolloré Logistics was completed in February and the combined CEVA organisation last year generated pro forma 2023 revenue of $20.2bn through the transportation of 1.9m TEU of ocean freight, 800,000 tons of airfreight and managing 11.7 m sq m warehousing. It employs 110,000 people.
In 2022, CEVA added Ingram Micro’s CLS division to boost its e-commerce solutions, GEFCO to offer finished vehicle solutions for its automotive customers and strengthen its European overland network.
Other targeted acquisitions boosted CEVA’s reach in perishables transport in Latin America through the takeover of Cargex and in small parcel, last-mile delivery in France with Colis Privé.
CEVA Logistics chief executive Mathieu Friedberg said: "Our teams have been working toward this moment for many years, and I’m so proud of where we are as a company.
“CEVA Logistics is moving to a vertical, product-driven organisation that will benefit our team and our customers as we compete among the Top 5 of the logistics industry.
"The vision we put in place for CEVA with the support of the CMA CGM Group is taking its final form. Our ability to innovate and collaborate with our customers to improve their global supply chains through truly end-to-end solutions is unmatched in some market segments.”
