EMIRATES Airline has cancelled its order for 70 A350 XWB.
The move follows the on-going discussions the carrier has been having with Airbus regarding its fleet requirement review, says the European ‘plane manufacturer.
Emirates placed the order for 50 A350-900s and 20 A350-1000s back in 2007. They were scheduled for delivery from 2019.
“Airbus is very confident in its A350 XWB programme. Half a year before entry into service, the A350 XWB order book stands at a healthy 742 firm orders,” adds the company statement.
Emirates also ordered 50 additional A380s at the tail end of last year.
