Air freight at Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern gateways remained weak in August, reports Airports Council International in its latest bulletin. The market is still affected by the slowdown in Asian export markets and oil producing economies. In August 2015, freight volumes were essentially flat in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East up by just 0.9%.
Freight at Hong Kong was down by 1.4% and by 1.6% at Shanghai Pudong, although Dubai International was up 5.3%.
In contrast, passenger business was brisk, with the summer holiday market continuing to support strong growth in August.
