All Nippon Airways (ANA) has for the first time launched B777 freighter services between Japan and Southeast Asia on the back of increased demand.
On December 10, the airline operated its first B777F service from Tokyo Narita to Bangkok.
The carrier said the flights were operated at full capacity in both directions.
ANA said it decided to launch the flights on the back of increased cargo demand, such as automobile parts, from Southeast Asia to North America via Japan.
It plans to operate a total of four round trips in December.
The move comes as the carrier has been ramping up its cargo operations in recent months as the coronavirus pandemic affects bellyhold capacity.
In December, the airline plans to operate 2,296 cargo flights – its highest ever monthly total.
