TWO RUSSIAN mobile meteorological support vehicles have arrived back in Yekaterinburg on board a Volga-Dnepr An-124-100 aircraft following a ‘test drive’ in Delhi.
The vehicles, each weighing 12 tonnes and measuring 8.5 metres in length and 3.6 metres in height, were accompanied on the flight by a five-metre, four-tonne trailer.
The service was operated on behalf of the Indian government, which ordered the vehicles from Russian manufacturer Uraltransmash.
The heavyweight delivery allowed specialists in India to familiarise themselves with the equipment, as well as conduct tests using it, says a statement.
