Airfreight wholesaler Air Menzies International (AMI) is moving its Melbourne operation to new and larger premises to meet growing demand and to expectations of stricter screening rules.

The new facility is located within the new Melbourne Airport Freight Precinct, around 1km from the airport’s cargo terminals, and provides larger warehouse, office and yard space.

It also offers a dock leveller, and awnings covering all loading bays. AMI’s range of services includes Approved Security Screening with multiple X-Ray machines and Explosive Trace Detection equipment.

AMI regional vice president Australasia Geoff Young said: “The new facility and addition to our truck fleet represents a significant investment in upgrading our capabilities at Melbourne, which is one of our largest operations in the Australasia region.

“In addition to providing quicker freight recovery and delivery through its proximity to the terminals, our new base gives us the capacity to handle larger volumes, particularly with the anticipated increase in security screening requirements. It will also enable us to assist our agent customers with 3PL opportunities and ocean container services.”
