American Airlines Cargo is now offering customers belly cargo space on a new service between Los Angeles and Hong Kong.

American said the daily nonstop service would be operated using a Boeing 777-300 aircraft that can carry 40 LD3 containers.

The airline said that Los Angeles would offer Hong Kong customers direct access to fresh goods and produce, while the US and connecting markets will benefit from access to high-demand commodities in Asia, such as mechanical parts, garments and electronics.

"American continues to build a great network in Asia and the Pacific," said Keijiro Ishii, American's managing director of Cargo Sales – Asia.

"Recently, we also started service to Tokyo-Haneda and Auckland. Demand for our cargo services is strong, not just to our hubs in the US, but throughout our unrivalled network in Latin America."

In Hong Kong, American will continue to be represented by Antares International as the GSA and Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (HACTL) as the handler.
