Chinese cargo carrier SF Airlines has grown its fleet to 90 freighters as it continues to build its global network and business.
The 90th member of the SF Airlines fleet, a widebody 767-300 Boeing converted freighter (BCF), arrived at its Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport hub on Sunday, according to China's state press agency Xinhua.
According to Planespotters, SF Airlines currently has 80 aircraft in service. This includes 17 737Fs, four 747Fs, 39 757Fs and 20 767Fs. Currently, more than 30% of SF Airlines' freighter fleet consists of widebody jets.
Last month, Boeing delivered its 100th completed 767-300BCF to SF Airlines, which is the operator of the world’s largest 767-300BCF fleet.
And in December, SF Airlines added its first Boeing 737-800 freighter.
Parent company SF Express (Europe) said in a LinkedIn post on 17 March: "SF Airlines’ fleet has reached a milestone of 90 freighters, solidifying our position as a leading cargo airline in China and strengthening our global air logistics capabilities.
"This achievement marks a significant expansion from our humble beginnings in 2009 when we operated just a single aircraft. Today, our diverse fleet includes Boeing 737s, 747s, 757s, and 767s, enabling us to serve over 110 cities worldwide."
The company said that its increasing capacity has enabled it to handle larger volumes and more diverse cargo types; extend its network to cover global markets and offer more direct routes; and overall provide better reliability and operational flexibility.
SF Airlines' network now spans over 100 domestic and international locations. The airline received its first freighter and launched its first cargo route in 2009.
In 2024, SF Airlines transported almost 1.2m tonnes of air cargo, exceeding one million tonnes of annual cargo volume for the first time in its history, the company said.
