SF Airlines adds new China-Vietnam cargo link

SF Airlines has continued with the expansion of its network through the addition of extra flights to Vietnam.

The China-based express giant has this week added a freighter route linking Shenzhen and Ho Chi Minh City, according to the Xinhua news agency.

The flight will operate five times a week and offer around 280 tonnes of cargo capacity – equating to around 30 tonnes per flight.

The carrier hopes the new route will support cooperation between the two countries in trade, investment, manufacturing and agricultural products.

The service will also improve connectivity with other members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Goods expected to be exported from China include express mail, e-commerce, hardware and electronics. In the opposite direction, perishable goods are expected to be flown including lobsters and durians.

The service is not the express airline’s only new international operation launched over the last month. 

In mid-June, the carrier added a Boeing 747 freighter flight linking Ezhou Huahu Airport in central China’s Hubei Province with Budapest International Airport in Hungary.

This is the first air cargo route linking Ezhou Huahu Airport to Hungary and is also SF Airlines’ third route from this airport to Europe.

SF has also expanded its partnership with Etihad in recent weeks, adding new flights between China and Abu Dhabi.
