Astral appoints Euro Cargo Aviation and Take Off Aviation as GSAs

Astral Aviation has appointed Euro Cargo Aviation as its GSA in Europe, US & UAE, and Take Off Aviation as its GSA in South Africa.
The partnerships became effective on January 1 and will see Euro Cargo Aviation and Take Off Aviation marketing the cargo airline’s cargo capacity to potential clients, businesses, freight forwarders, and other relevant entities within the designated regions.
Astral Aviation chief executive Sanjeev Gadhia said: “We look forward to our partnership with Euro Cargo Aviation who will act as an extension of our esteemed company, representing its cargo services, driving sales, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining customer satisfaction for its scheduled and charter network from Europe, USA & UAE, which will be directed towards Astral’s strategic hubs in Dubai and Nairobi while Take Off Aviation will promote Astral in South Africa.”
Kenya-headquartered Astral Aviation has hubs in Nairobi, Dubai, Johannesburg and Liege.
Chief executive Sanjeev Gadhia confirmed to Air Cargo News that the airline currently operates one Boeing 757F, one Boeing 767F, two Boeing 727Fs, one McDonnell Douglas DC9F, and three Fokker 50s.
The airline has two 767Fs on order, due for delivery this year, said Gadhia.
He confirmed that Astral also plans to add two Embraer E190Fs next year, following a deal with Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) in 2022, plus two Boeing 777Fs, to be delivered in 2025 and 2026.
Astral will additionally benefit from the capacity of two Airbus A330-300Fs in the near future.
Astral has a strategic commercial collaboration with Pradhaan Air Express, and as previously reported by Air Cargo News, ST Engineering Aerospace Resources has struck a deal to lease two A320P2Fs, two A321P2Fs and two A330-300P2Fs to Vaayu Aero Leasing, for use by Pradhaan Air Express, based in New Delhi, India. The A330s will be delivered in 2025 and 2026.
