CMA CGM Air Cargo has selected CHAMP Cargosystems to provide its cargo management software.

The IT firm said that CMA CGM had selected a range of its applications based around the Cargospot solution.

This includes management system Cargospot Airline, booking platform Cargospot Portal, Cargospot Business Intelligence and data interchange TRAXON CargoHUB.

More services are expected to be added in the coming weeks, CHAMP said.

“We are very happy to support CMA CGM Air Cargo with our extensive range of services that will enable them to establish their business around advanced digitalisation,” said Chris McDermott, chief executive at CHAMP. “We also look forward to partnering with a leading multimodal player.”

CHAMP vice president of sales and account management David Linford said that the service had been delivered on time.

“I’m looking forward to our continued engagement as this is just the beginning of our collaboration,” he added.

The move comes after CMA CGM Air Cargo ended its partnership with Air France KLM Martinair Cargo earlier this year.

As well as sharing capacity, the two also aligned systems and both utilised the same myCargo platform developed by the Franco-Dutch airline group.

The partnership came to an end on March 31 after less than a year due to “the tight regulatory environment in certain important markets”.

The partnership with CHAMP was up and running from April 1.

“Both CHAMP and CMA CGM Air Cargo invested extraordinary effort to successfully deliver systems in a matter of weeks,” CHAMP added.

CMA CGM has also been busy since the break up signing new GSA agreements and adjusting its fleet and network plans.
