Charter broker Air Partner has appointed Andrew Powers as head of business development for its cargo division.
Powers has more than 25 years of experience working in cargo, most recently spending eight years as sales manager at AirBridgeCargo Airlines.
In his new role, Powers is tasked with growing existing accounts and expanding the firm's presence across the airfreight market, including the aerospace, automotive and humanitarian sectors.
"Andrew will work closely with Air Partner’s global cargo team, leveraging his expertise to expand the group’s presence in the air cargo market, to deepen existing relationships with freight forwarders, and to create new business opportunities," the company said.
Vice president of global freight Pierre Van Der Stichele said: “Andrew will be an excellent addition to our team. Bringing his own experience of cargo and the aerospace industry on board, we are confident that Air Partner will continue to be both active and successful in these sectors as he drives forward new business opportunities for the company.”
Earlier this year, Private aviation firm Wheels Up Experience reached an agreement to buy Air Partner.
New York-based Wheels up said the deal would enable it to expand internationally, while Air Partner would benefit from investment in operations, service and technology.
