Air France pilots have called off their two-week strike that cost the struggling airline hundreds of millions of euros. An exact estimate on how much it damaged Air France's cargo business is not yet known, but it certainly won't have gotten off lightly.
The pilot's union SNPL and the airline were in dispute over plans to expand its budget subsidiary Transavia, in an attempt to take on upstart low-cost carriers.
Those negotiations were not successful, the strike only stopping so they could, according to a union spokesperson, 'continue in a calmer climate'. That means chances of further strikes and so further disruption is high.
