Air Cargo Services of Vietnam (ACSV) is to operate the Hermes air cargo management system in its freight warehouse at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport.

Hanoi-based ACSV, the Vietnamese handler formed after the privatisation of Air Cargo Services Co (ACS) in June 2015, and the owner of Noi Bai Cargo Terminal, has chosen Hermes as part of its wider effort to modernise and improve service quality.

Pham Duc Long, ACSV chairman, observed: “The installation of the Hermes Cargo Management System is evidence of (our) ambitious development plan (for) the coming year. The system, with various modern functions, will really revolutionise our cargo handling operations on a daily basis, allowing ACSV to offer better services to all our customers.”

Simon Elmore, Hermes' chief operating officer, added: “Hermes was designed by our team of cargo experts and is proven to increase efficiency, reduce operational costs and provide dependable cargo data to analyse business trends accurately.”

ACS/ACSV has handled cargo for more than 20 airlines since ACS was formed in April 2009, shipments including general cargo, cool-chain freight, live animals, express freight, perishables, over-sized cargo and dangerous goods. It handled more than 100,000 tons of freight in 2015 and is looking to secure a position as the leading cargo handler at Hanoi.
