Freighter operator AirBridgeCargo (ABC) has joined the International Airlines Technical Pool (IATP), which aims to streamline maintenance pooling activities during aircraft on ground (AOG) situations.
Sergey Lazarev, general director at the Russian carrier, said: “With our vast experience in oversize cargo transportation, extensive route network and qualified team, and stocks of spare parts in several stations, we would be able to support our partners in any AOG situation, guaranteeing cost-effective and timely logistics solutions.
“Our global network and fleet of modern Boeing 747 freighters allow us to respond promptly to all technical challenges, including AOG-related cases, and offer a proven solution IATP members can count on.”
IATP chairperson San Lucktong pointed out that ABC would also benefit from the shared technical resources of its fellow members.
The association currently has 114 airline and 36 associate members, all of whom have access to joint resources such as aircraft spare parts, line maintenance, ground handling equipment, aircraft recovery kits and technical training.
