JAS Forwarding has become the latest firm to sign up to use the cargo.one airfreight booking platform.

The forwarder will be able to use the platform to compare live spot rates and book space on several airlines, helping it save time compared with the existing way of booking space.

"We tested the cargo.one platform extensively and were always in close contact with the teams on both sides. The joint product development convinced us that the cargo.one software would help us optimise our processes.

“Booking processes are significantly accelerated and the current spot rates allow us to always offer our customers the best options," said Gordon Reinke, airfreight director Germany of JAS Forwarding.

Oliver Neumann, co-founder of cargo.one, added: "The airfreight industry is still largely analogous and offers great potential for optimisation and faster processes. That's exactly what we can offer with cargo.one.

“JAS Forwarding recognised this early on and we are pleased to be supporting a leading logistics service provider in the digitisation process."

Dachser and Hellmann have also signed up to use cargo.one, while on the airline side Lufthansa and Leisure Cargo offer space.

Lufthansa is also an investor in the platform.
