Turkish Cargo will join an online booking portal for the first time after partnering with WebCargo, which has reported a rapid rise in the amount of capacity listed on the portal over the last year.
The two partners said that Turkish Cargo will soon provide forwarders with the ability to conduct "real-time eBookings, access live rates, and see available air cargo capacity" through WebCargo.
Turkish Cargo will first roll out on WebCargo in Spain and India, and will be quickly followed by roll outs in several more countries.
It is the first time the carrier had listed its capacity on an online booking portal and reflects growing demand for the service.
WebCargo said the addition of Turkish takes the percentage of global air cargo capacity available for real-time booking on its portal from 9% in the first quarter of 2020 up to 22% in the second quarter of this year.
The company said that the move to booking platforms had been "hugely motivated" by Covid as they provide "critical agility as air cargo contends with unexpected shifts due to the global pandemic".

WebCargo said it now provides services to more than 2,000 forwarder customers across over 10,000 global branches.

The carrier first revealed that it planned to list its capacity through an online booking portal in February.
