Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) has been awarded a contract to carry out an additional ten B737-800SF freighter conversions for lessor Aero Capital Solutions (ACS).
These ten freighter conversions are in addition to the four announced by AEI in October last year. When the orders are fulfilled, AEI would have converted 14 B737-800SF freighter conversions for ACS.
The first of the ten additional aircraft conversions will commence in June this year. Haeco Xiamen will carry out the modification.
The second conversion will start in July this year at Stateco.
AEI said the remaining eight aircraft conversions will alternate between the two production lines, with the final aircraft modification commencing in September 2022.
AEI converted B737-800SF freighters offer a maindeck payload of up to 23,904kg. They incorporate eleven full height 88in x 125in container positions, plus an additional position for an AEP/AEH.
The conversion also incorporates new floor beams aft of the wing box, a large 86in x 137in main cargo door with a single vent door system, and a flexible ancra cargo loading system.
Additionally, converted AEI B737-800SF aircraft include a rigid 9g barrier, five supernumerary seats, a galley and a full lavatory.
