Vietnam Emirates SkyCargo Freighter

Emirates SkyCargo has marked 15 years of airfreight operations in Vietnam, during which time it "has helped to facilitate trade between the country and the rest of the world".

The carrier operates 10 scheduled flights per week to Hanoi and six flights per week to Ho Chi Minh City, as well as additional charter flights to support the export needs of the market.

Exported Vietnamese commodities include medical supplies, clothing and perishables (mangoes, rambutans, passion fruit, dragon fruit and lychees).

"Exports from these gateways [Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi] were carried to other points in Asia including Bangkok, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and then uplifted on Emirates flights to Dubai and other markets," the carrier said.

Last month, Emirates SkyCargo has launched a new service to Guadalajara in Mexico – its second cargo destination in Mexico and 15th in the Americas.

The service, which commences next week, will utilise Boeing 777-F aircraft, which offer 100 tonnes of cargo capacity per flight.
