UPS Healthcare, the pharma and life sciences division of UPS, is expanding its warehouse and distribution network in key global markets, including a new facility in Shanghai and up to 1.5m sq ft of good manufacturing practices (GMP) distribution space for coronavirus-related shipments.
The firm is also opening GDP-compliant pharma warehouses in the Central and Eastern Europe, and implementing an additional cold chain warehouse near its UPS Worldport facility in Louisville, US.
UPS Healthcare said that as part its ongoing pharma facility enhancements, it has committed to building additional cooler space (for storage at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius), and freezer space (for storage at -20 to -80 degrees Celsius) at the new cold chain warehouse in Louisville.
The company is also expanding its GDP facility in Hungary, as well as it GMP space in the UK. Additionally, a new GMP warehouse and transportation hub will be opened in the Midlands, UK, to facilitate clients’ growth.
