Japanese Airlines (JAL) has partnered with CHAMP Cargosystems to launch a digital platform to streamline the carrier's domestic cargo processes.
Built on CHAMP’s open cargo platform, the new online platform solution, which is operated by CHAMP on behalf of JAL, enables the airline’s customers to transact business digitally with an a mobile app that fully automates the end-to-end processes within JAL’s cargo warehouses.
The new digital platform enables completely paperless trading whilst transforming the entire JAL domestic cargo business.
The portal also enables dynamic pricing and flight selection for bookings, real-time shipment tracking and tools such as allotment and invoice management.
In addition, as booked shipments arrive at the JAL warehouse, the handling processes - from acceptance to flight departure - can be streamlined through JAL's use of CHAMP’s integrated mobile app.
Hiroo Iwakoshi, executive officer of cargo and mail at Japan Airlines, added: "This end-to-end digitalisation platform will not only transform our business, processes and operations, but also generate major efficiency gains and enhanced visibility to our valued clients. Customer focus is at the heart of our organization and we thank CHAMP for their great collaboration and cargo expertise in bringing this project to life."
