A Boeing 747F charter flight by Chinese carrier Suparna Airlines transported nearly 70 tons of protective medical equipment from China to Budapest airport (BUD) in Hungary.
The shipment included more than 3m face masks, 100 000 coronavirus tests and 86 medical ventilators from China.
The aircraft was welcomed on arrival by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the Chinese ambassador to Hungary and by Budapest Airport chief executive Rolf Schnitzler.
“Even during the coronavirus pandemic, Budapest Airport is working around the clock for the seamless operation of air cargo, as, in addition to supporting the national economy, this is of key importance for ensuring the availability of medical supplies,” said Schnitzler.
In addition to the Suparna charter, Turkish Cargo transported several pallets of manufacturing materials for medical equipment from Istanbul, and a Wizz Air A321neo aircraft returned from Shanghai, carrying 11 tons of protective medical equipment.
