American Airlines is continuing to operate long-haul flights, carrying passengers and cargo, to make up for capacity lost as a result of low demand due to the coronavirus.
The carrier will fly its widebody aircraft to locations including Auckland Airport, São Paulo International Airport and Honolulu International Airport.
These flights are in addition to existing passenger flights, which continue to operate daily between Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and London Heathrow (LHR), Miami International Airport and LHR, as well as three times per week between DFW and Narita International Airport.
Also, from today (March 26), American Airlines is expanding its airfreight capacity by operating cargo-only flights, utilising passenger, aircraft between DFW and Frankfurt Airport (FRA). With theses additional flights, the carrier will be operating a total of more than 40 widebody flights every week.
