AirBridgeCargo (ABC) and CargoLogicAir (CLA) say they have become the first all-cargo airlines to make their capacities available for digital booking with instant confirmation, following a deal signed with air cargo booking platform cargo.one
ABC and CLA will market their capacities digitally to cargo.one’s customer base, which comprises hundreds of freight forwarding companies while the system will make it easier for forwarders to search for space, compare and book offers on the two carriers.
The digital offering is set to go live later this summer after the carriers’ in-house systems have been integrated with cargo.one.
Volga-Dnepr Group vice president for sales and marketing, Robert van de Weg said the move “enables us to meet customers’ growing demand for digital solutions and to give forwarders of all sizes access to our large global freighter network”. CLA chief executive, David Kerr predicted that better links with small and medium-sized forwarders through cargo.one would help increase short-term sales and load factors.
Forwarders also welcomed the move. Airfreight chief executive at Skyline Express International, Hauke Langert, described faster and more efficient access to freighter capacities as “a real game-changer” adding that cargo.one would give 24-hour access to CLA and ABC capacities with real-time rates.
Steffen Löbert, managing director at CS4 Logistics said: “We highly welcome the partnership and looking forward to expand our relationship with ABC and CLA because of the much easier access.”
Moritz Claussen, managing director and founder of cargo.one added: “We are very excited to enable this industry-first. ABC and CLA are spearheading innovation for all-cargo airlines to become more digital and thus customer-centric. And, they are now able to access the untapped market of smaller and medium-sized forwarders that were previously not able to book with them. This will help them to further up their sales and load factors across their networks.”
